Volunteer for International Understanding

Would You Like to be a Volunteer for International Understanding?

As a Volunteer for International Understanding, you can have the chance to go to local schools and participate in classes that help children learn more about the different countries in our world.
You'll also have the chance to experience Japanese schools and learn more about Japanese school life.
You might also learn more things about your own country or culture at the same time!

What Kinds of Things Would I Do?

  • Explain about your country, culture, and way of life in Japanese.
  • Teach the children traditional games from your home country and play with them.
  • Talk about your experiences since coming to Japan and your feelings about living here.

If I Register With SenTIA, What Happens Next?

  1. We will send you a list of schools that would like to have classes with volunteers.
  2. ⇒ Choose a day and school that works with your schedule and contact SenTIA.
  3. ⇒ We will have a meeting with you, the school teachers, and a member from SenTIA before your school visit.
  4. ⇒ You will go to the school and introduce your country.

※There may be a chance that you will be asked to go to a Shimin Center or Jidokan (Child Center).
