World Bosai Forum / International Disaster Risk Conference 2017 in Sendai Technical Session: A Multicultural Society and Disaster Risk Reduction
Every two years in Sendai there will be a ‘World Bosai Forum/ International Disaster Risk Conference’ to continue to send out information on knowledge and lessons learnt about disaster risk reduction from Sendai/ Tohoku.
This year, from Sat. 25th to Tues. 28th November, there will be various sessions, including some that regular citizens can participate in, in addition to specialists.
These will take place at the Sendai International Center and Tohoku University.

SenTIA and the City of Sendai will organise a talk session with the topic‘A multicultural Society and Disaster Risk Reduction: Good Practices Implemented by Multi-Stakeholders’.
As we move forward with globalization, important issues like support for foreign residents and travelers during a disaster and cooperation with foreign people in Japan will become prominent.
At this session, we will share good practices implemented in relation to the theme of multiculturalism and disaster risk reduction, and also consider disaster risk reduction efforts from multi-stakeholders.
