Feb. 15, 2025 (Sat) 9th Sendai International Music Competition Celebration Concert

Sendai is known as the City of Trees and an Academic City, but this wonderful town is also a City of Music.
The Sendai International Music Competition takes place every 3 years and gives young, talented musicians from across the world the chance to play their hearts out on violin and piano while vying for first prize and the prestige that comes with it.
The two winners of the 8th competition in 2022 will perform during this Celebration Concert as a prelude to next year’s competition.

The two stars on stage will be Japanese violinist NAKANO Lina and Chinese pianist LUO Jiaqing, performing alongside our hometown Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra.
This Concert will take you back through space and time to 19th century Germany as it features two seminal Concertos created by the great German composer, Johannes Brahms.
Tickets are on sale right now and there are even special reduced-price tickets available for anyone 25 years of age and younger, so don’t miss out!
