“Sendai City’s Public Schools (Elementary, Junior High and High Schools, etc.) will be Closed Until Wednesday, May 6th, 2020.”
1. Opening Ceremony and Entrance Ceremony
Opening Ceremonies will take place on Wednesday, April 15.
Entrance Ceremonies for Elementary and High Schools will take place on Wednesday, April 15, and for Junior High Schools will be on Thursday, April 16.
※ For Koyodai Elementary School, Rokugo Junior High school, and Sendai High School, each school will notify the details on a later date.
2. Temporary School Closure
Sendai city’s public school will be closed from the following day of the Opening and Entrance Ceremonies until Wednesday, May 6th in order to prevent both contraction of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as individuals, and spread of the virus. During the school closure, children whose guardians are unable to take care of them due to work or similar reasons, can go to their schools or children’s clubs.
The time that children can go to schools or children’s clubs differs by their grades.
