Ukrainian Cultural Experience ”Gerdan Charm Making”(Subsidized by SenTIA)

The Sendai International Friendship Club will be hosting a workshop where one could try making gerdan charm using beads.

Through hosting cultural exchange events, the Sendai International Friendship Club hopes to promote mutual respect between people of different nationalities and ethnicities.
This workshop is dedicated to making gerdan, which are charms features traditional Ukrainian patterns.
To make it easier for beginners, we will be using store-bought beads to make the charms.
You can also learn about the many meanings behind the pattern that we will be making this time.

Through participating in this event, you can learn about Ukrainian lifestyle and traditions. 。
Please keep in mind that this workshop is not taught by a professional craftsperson. Ms. Garya, a Ukrainian international student, will be our instructor.

Everyone is welcome to participate in our event. (Foreign residents and school-age children are also welcome)
