【Participants Wanted】Sendai Symposium for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Future「Non-Japanese residents and disaster prevention – An introduction to multilingual information and tools which can be used during times of disaster and for disaster prevention-」(仙台防災未来フォーラム2022)

SenTIA will participate in 2022 Sendai Symposium for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Future. The population of Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City is approximately 1% non-Japanese. Just how do non-Japanese residents obtain information here in Japan where a variety of natural disasters occur including earthquakes, tsunamis, heavy rain, and heavy snow occur? What should be done so that these non-Japanese residents can learn about disasters and disaster prevention during their everyday lives? We will introduce multilingual information and tools which are useful during both disasters and normal times.

◎Thinking about multicultural disaster prevention together with residents of the community

◆Sendai Symposium for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Future・・・This event which is organized by the City of Sendai acts as a place for citizens and others to learn about disaster prevention and share their daily activities in order to pass on lessons learned and experiences with the Great East Japan Earthquake to the future. The above session (12:15p.m.-1:45p.m) is run by the Miyagi International Association (MIA) and Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association (SenTIA).
