Students wanted for the “Sendai Japanese Language Course”(せんだい日本語講座)*Orientation and Class Placement Test Postponed

*The orientation and class placement test for the Sendai Japanese Language Course scheduled to be held on May 7 (Fri.), has been postponed until May 14 (Fri.) as a preventative measure against the spread of COVID-19. Please check SenTIA’s website etc. for the latest updates.

The “Sendai Japanese Language Course” is aimed at foreign residents.
There are many classes available based on your Japanese proficiency.
Classes start on May 18 (Tue.).
Lessons are free of charge (cost of textbooks only).
Classes are to be held at the Aoba-ku Chuo Shimin Center.
Application is required for those who wish to take classes.
◆Orientation and class placement test:
May 14 (Fri.) 10:00a.m. Beginner level 1 – 3 class            
May 14 (Fri.) 11:30 a.m. Intermediate classes and above
(※People who wish to take classes must have a test.)
◆Course term: May 18 (Tue.) – September 10 (Fri.)
◆Class time and days: Tuesday to Friday weekly (Days differ depending on your class)
◆Class location: Aoba-ku Chuo Shimin Center (2-1-4 Ichibancho, Aoba-ku)
◆Class level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Kanji, etc.
◆Class fee: Cost of textbooks only
◆Japanese Instructors: Members of the International Citizens’ Association of Sendai (ICAS)

*As a countermeasure against coronavirus, class length will be shorter than usual. Student numbers will also be reduced.
We will end our search for students when the class size limit is met.
*Please take your temperature at home, and wear a mask at the time of class placement test and during classes.
*Those who have just arrived in Japan are to stay home for two weeks before attending classes.
*Class dates and times may change or be cancelled due to coronavirus infection.
