International groups
You can find information on registered international groups by searching the directory of international groups in Sendai.
Registering as an international group
If you register as a group active in international exchange or cooperation, you may avail of the following services.
1. We will assist you in putting out information on your group.
① Information on your group will be shown on our online directory of international groups in Sendai.
② We will pass on registered information on your group to citizens in response to inquiries.
2. We will provide you with information from the Sendai Multicultural Center.
We will send publications and resources to you such as the “Sendai Multicultural Center News”.
3. We will help you share information between other international groups.
You will be registered to the mailing list for international groups active in and around Sendai.
Information is shared between groups through the mailing list, including information on events from SenTIA and international groups.
1. Conditions for registration
Groups which fulfill all the conditions below are eligible to register.
The group:
- (1)is continuously active in Sendai City.
- (2)is active in the areas related to international exchange, international cooperation and/or multiculturalism.
- (3)has approximately 5 or more members.
- (4)has a representative which can express the intentions of the group, or has established an organization which can carry out said intentions.
- (5)does not carry out for-profit, political, or religious activities.
- (6)is not considered an “anti-social force” (criminal group, etc.) and does not have relations with any anti-social forces.
- (7)is not conducting activities in violation of public order and morality, and does not have relations with any group that is conducting activities in violation of public order and morality.
- (8)operates on voluntary funding such as through membership fees.
2. Registration process
- (1)Registration can be conducted at any time (excluding days the Multicultural Center is closed).
- (2)Submit the “Group Registration Sheet”, member list and group bylaws.
- (3)SenTIA conducts an interview at the time of registration. We will ask you to give an overview of the group, etc.
- (4)You may be asked to submit additional documents as required, such as materials from general meetings, project reports, project proposals, group newsletters.
- (5)If a group wishes to continue their registration for the following fiscal year, renewal procedures are required.
3. Approval of registration
- (1)We will notify the person that submitted the application for registration whether they are successful within approximately two weeks of submitting the documents.
- (2)Even if your application is initially successful, if it is discovered that you made false statements on your application or other facts surface that are unfitting for a registered group, we may cancel your registration.
4. Regarding information on groups
- (1)Information related to group activities which is submitted at the time of registration will be used when responding to inquiries from citizens that visit Sendai Multicultural Center and also to introduce the registered groups through media such as our website or publications.
- (2)Details related to personal information such as names or contact information will only be disclosed within the limits consented to by the registered group.
