Applications and information sessions for evening classes held in Sendai Municipal Minami-Koizumi Junior High School during FY2025 (enrolling in October) (Notice from the Sendai City Board of Education)（仙台市立南小泉中学校 夜間学級）
These evening classes serve as a night school aimed at people who feel that they “want to study again,” but were unable to complete their compulsory education, did not attend school due to reasons such as non-attendance, or are foreign residents who did not complete compulsory education in their home countries. These evening classes will be held at Sendai Municipal Minami-Koizumi Junior High School.
The night school (evening classes) will include the following:
●Studying the same curriculum as daytime junior high school students.
●Graduating junior high school upon completion of the entire course
●Instruction by teachers holding junior high school teaching licenses.
●No course fees. Textbooks are distributed free of charge.
●Classes will be held Monday to Friday, from 5:30pm to 9pm.
●Each period will last 40 minutes. There will be a total of 4 periods each day, with a total of 20 periods per week.
●You can enroll even if you are currently working.
【Information about applying to become a first-year student (enrolling in October) in the evening classes】
You can only apply to become a first-year, and places are limited. Below are the conditions for enrollment:
| Enrollment requirements: | Applicants must live in Miyagi Prefecture and meet one of the following requirements: ① Be past school age and have not completed compulsory education. ② Have graduated from junior high school without having received a sufficient education due to reasons such as non-attendance. ③ Be a foreign resident past school age without having completed compulsory education within Japan or their home country. *These classes are not aimed at current junior high school students |
| Number of successful applicants: | You can only apply to become a first-year, and places are limited. |
| Application period: | September 1st, 2025 – September 19th, 2025 *Please submit written applications by Friday, September 19th |

Information Session 1: Saturday August 30th, 2025 2pm-2:45pm (Reception open from 1:30pm) Information Session 2: Friday September 9th, 2025 6:30pm-7:15pm (Reception open from 5pm) *Before Information Session 2, you will have the opportunity to observe an evening class. (5:40pm-6:20pm) |
