February Hello Sendai Broadcast-Disaster preparedness ~ What do you do in the winter?(2月の多言語放送局)
It’s been a chilly winter. When everyone is finished with work or school for the day and goes home this winter, what’s the first thing everyone does? Warm up, right? We turn on the AC unit or space heater, draw a bath or snuggle up under a kotatsu to stay warm.
Now imagine that an earthquake hits and you lose electricity and gas. What would you do now that your heating devices don’t work? Sendai is one of the warmer places in the Tohoku region but its winters still are still to be taken seriously, especially when it comes to staying warm during a winter disaster.
Join us this time as we talk about disasters in our home countries, and what preparatory steps are taken, while we think about winter disaster prevention in Sendai together!
