Japanese Cultural Experience Event: “Sendai Tsutsumi Doll Painting Experience” (Subsidized by SenTIA)(仙台堤人形絵付け体験会)

The Sendai International Exchange Club is hosting a hands-on event where you can experience painting “tsutsumi dolls.”

The purpose of the Foreign Exchange Club is to foster a sense of value between countries and their people by holding events that allow for first-hand experiences of each culture.

The focus this time is a hands-on painting event of traditional Sendai dolls.
Tsutsumi dolls have a long history in Sendai, dating back 300 years ago during the Edo period in Kyoto, the craft first began with “ukiyo-e” roots.

Open to everyone (Foreign residents and schoolchildren are especially welcome!)
