The Lunar New Year is one of the largest events in the year that is still celebrated in many of the countries of East Asia.
How did foreign students decide to spend the festival in Sendai, away from home?
We were also introduced to the symbols of the Lunar New Year in the various countries, such as China, South Korea, and Vietnam.

In recent years, with the increasing number of foreign residents with backgrounds featuring a diverse array languages and cultures, it has become an important issue to realize a society where citizens can coexist while mutually accepting the different cultures of others. The “Sendai Multicultural Channel” is a project where we introduce our City of Sendai using videos with the theme of “Multiculturalism.” We have the goal of informing as many citizens as possible about how Sendai is a city which lives and breathes “Multiculturalism,” in addition to expanding the extent of such activities even further though these videos.
