*The PCR Test Center (1F Sendai City Hall Main Building) is closing. (March 31, 2023)
The Kinoshita Group Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR Test Center has been set up in the main building of the Sendai City Hall for people who want to take a COVID-19 test.

Currently due to a request from Miyagi Prefecture, COVID-19 tests can be taken free of charge. (Subject to change in the future)

・Operated Hours: Weekdays 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (The cut-off-time is 5:00 p.m.)
　※Open 7 days a week

・Location: A special venue on the ground floor, on the east side of the main building next to the main entrance of Sendai City Hall.

・Eligibility: Those who live in Miyagi prefecture and have no COVID-19 symptoms.
※Your address will be confirmed at the venue. Please bring personal ID with you (Residence card, Japanese drivers’ license, My Number card etc.)

・Types of test available: PCR test (Saliva test)
Qualitative antigen test (Nasal swab)
　※People with symptoms such as fever and cough or are considered a close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 cannot take the test.

・Fee: PCR test 1,900 yen, qualitative antigen test 1,600 yen
　(In principal payment must be made by credit card, electronic payment, QR code payment, travel IC cards such as Suica and icsca,)
　(Cash payments are not accepted, however, please have the exact amount ready if cash payment is unavoidable.)
　※Currently COVID-19 tests can be taken free of charge. (Subject to change in the future)

【The reservation method and the PCR test flow】
1. Make a reservation through the Kinoshita Group Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR Test Center website（Japanese text）
　※If you find it difficult to make an online reservation, you can visit the center directly. If there are free slots you may be able to take a test then and there.

2. Commitment and consent to registration
In the case that you test positive for COVID-19, as your consent will be already be registered, in accordance with that indicated by the City of Sendai public health center. Fill in the required fields in the designated form found in the reservation confirmation email.

3. On the day of your reservation you are required to pay the fee at the PCR test center, and then collect your own saliva sample.

4. Confirm your test result.
The result will be sent to the examinee by e-mail registered at the time of making the reservation, for qualitative antigen test approximately 30mins later, and on the following day for PCR tests.
※If the result is positive the public health center will also contact you.
