3. Procedures related to certificates, change of address, health and welfare may be done by post
Many citizens are coming to service counters at ward offices and general branch offices which issue all types of certificates including residence records, family register copies, and tax certificates.
In order to protect against the spread of the Novel Coronavirus and to guarantee the safety of visitors to these offices, the City of Sendai is striving for the rigorous enforcement of hand washing, gargling water, etc. for service counter employees.
We would like to encourage visitors to these offices to also cooperate with implementing proper couch etiquette while on outings, washing hands when returning home, and gargling water.
Additionally, in the event of having symptoms such as a fever, we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in refraining from visiting these offices (going on outings) in order to prevent the spread of infectious disease.
Furthermore, please use the following methods to obtain all types of certificate without needing to directly go to a service counter at an office.
3-1. Procedures for all types of certificates
Can apply for the following certificates by post or at convenience stores.
① Certificates which can be applied for by post
Copy of residence record, certificates related to family register, moving out certificate, inhabitant tax (exemption) certificate (income certificate), etc.
② Certificates which can be applied for at a convenience store
Copy of residence record, registered seal certificate, certificates related to family register, inhabitant tax (exemption) certificate (income certificate)

Only those who are registered as a resident of Sendai City and have a My Number
(individual number) card.

3-2. Procedures for change of address
The following procedures can be done by post.
① Procedures for moving outside of Sendai City (moving out notification)
② Procedures for moving to/within Sendai City (moving in notification, change of residence notification)
※Procedures for change of address must be done within 14 days from moving. Although, if you are unable to complete procedures due to preventative measures for the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), you may do so even after 14 days have passed.
