1-2. Those who find it difficult to pay water and sewerage fees

It may be possible to extend the due date of fees and usage fees.

1-3. Those who find it difficult to pay gas fees

From March 25, the Gas Bureau of the City of Sendai became subject to the Welfare Fund Loan System, as a result of effect of the spread of the Novel Coronavirus Disease. This special measure allows eligible persons who find it difficult to make payments can have their payment due date extended temporarily by one month.

Applications by the customer are required to utilize this special measure. Applications can be made from today (March 25) to the “Gas Bureau Customer Center of the City of Sendai” by phone at 0800-800-8977.

【Eligible Customers】
Those who have received the “Emergency Small Loan” or “General Support Fund” and temporarily experiencing difficulty paying gas fees due to the widening impact of the Novel Coronavirus. (Consultations are available for those who are in the process of applying for the above listed financial support and are temporarily experiencing difficulty paying gas fees.)

【Contents of the Special Measures】
Gas fees from meter readings from February (payment due date which falls on or after March 25), March, April, and May payment due dates will be extended by one month upon the customer’s application and will be subject to the regular fees*.

※Regular Fees

When payment is made within 20 days from the day following the issuance of a payment notification of which the fee is subjected.

Please contact the Customer Center of the Gas Bureau. Documents which prove the customer has received above mentioned financial assistance loans are required upon application.

1-4. National Health Insurance, Medical Care for Older Senior Citizens, and Nursing Insurance Fees

Those whose lives have changed and had their incomes reduced due to the Novel Coronavirus may have their National Health Insurance, Medical Care for Older Senior Citizens, and Nursing Insurance fees’ due date postponed or pay reduced fees.

1-5. National Pension Fees

Those whose lives have changed and had their incomes reduced due to the Novel Coronavirus do not have to pay National Pension fees.

1-6. Electricity, Telephone, and NHK Fees

The national government of Japan is asking electricity and telephone companies, as well as NHK (television station), to help people with difficulties by postponing the collection of fees.
