Fire Prevention at Home
In order to prevent a fire from occurring once electricity has been restored to your house, please pay attention to the following points;

①Before leaving your house to take refuge, turn off the power breaker.
②After electricity has been restored, unplug all of your electric appliances.
③Turn the power breaker back on and if you smell burning or see sparks, turn the power breaker off straight away.
④If there are no problems once you turn the power breaker back on, you can plug your electric appliances back in and start using them.

Fire Prevention at Work
After an earthquake, fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and water sprinklers etc. may not work. If this does occur, please pay attention to the following points;
①If fire extinguishers and water sprinklers etc. are not working, confirm the location of other equipment that you can use.
②If fire alarms are not working, communication is important. Make sure you confirm the safety of others.
③If emergency doors are broken and won’t open, look for another exit to evacuate.
④It is very important to make regular checks on fire safety equipment. If you would like something repaired, please consult with your local fire department.

Fire Prevention
①When using candles, position them away from flammable objects and materials. Also, ensure candles are in sturdy metal, glass, or ceramic holders and placed where they cannot be easily knocked down.
②If you use a kerosene heater, provide proper ventilation by opening a window slightly and be careful of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Banks
Those who lost their bank book or bank card in the earthquake and tsunami can still withdraw money from their accounts by going to one of their banks. Various loans are also on offer, so please consult with your nearest bank for more details.
