| PURPOSE OF FOUNDATION | Through promotion and advocation activities that deepen understanding, international goodwill and comradery, Soroptimist International works towards increasing the status of women, high standards of morals, equal rights for everyone, equality, development and peace. |
| INTRODUCTION | Soroptimist International is a worldwide volunteer organization of women made up of 5 joint groups, in 136 countries/regions, with 2,812 clubs consisting of 64,649 members. Soroptimist International of Sendai is affiliated with the America Federation and North Japan Legion. Alongside the goal of working towards increasing the livelihood and status of women and girls, we are conducting societal and economic support programs. |
