| PURPOSE OF FOUNDATION | In this world overflowing with diversity, AFS wants to educate citizens in the community who have a sense of responsibility and can be active in promoting peace and mutual understanding. In order to impress on people the knowledge, abilities, and understanding required to realize a just and peaceful world, we aim to provide opportunities to come into contact with a variety of foreign cultures. |
| INTRODUCTION | AFS Japan is a pioneer of high school student exchanges in over 100 different countries, with programs including long-term and short-term exchanges. By coming into contact with foreign cultures through “everyday life,” program participants can experience cultural differences and come to respect them. Through these experiences, participants will be able to expand their perspectives, develop flexible and ways of thinking free from stereotypes, gain confidence, and improve their ability to cooperate with people from different cultures. Many of our participants come to understand the importance of respecting foreign cultures and diversity. |
| PR | Being able to watch over high school students and see how much they mature during their exchange period is a real pleasure for volunteers. It is also greatly motivating to meet everyone in the host families and host schools. Please come and help us with activities as a staff member. [Updated date: September 11, 2026] |
