INTRODUCTION | The International Relations Department of the Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association (SenTIA) is involved in internationalization and multiculturalism projects. The Sendai Multiculturalism Center provides multilingual information which is useful in the daily lives of foreign residents. Additionally, the Center handles consultations related to the daily lives of foreign residents and building a multicultural community. |
PR | SenTIA’s International Relations Department aims to improve projects which support foreign residents. SenTIA created the “Children with Roots Abroad Support Sendai consultation desk” in order to provide advice and assistance to children with overseas roots, their parents, and schools. If you ever need any help, please make good use of this service. The Sendai Multicultural Center’s “Interpretation Support Hotline” handles consultations from foreigners in 22 languages in addition to community interpretation supporters being dispatched to provide language support at government office service counters and other locations. Furthermore, foreign language consultants speaking Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Nepali are available 1 to 2 times a week to help. Specialist Consultation Sessions are also held with cooperation from the Sendai Regional Immigration Bureau, Sendai Bar Association, Miyagi Administrative Scrivener Association, Miyagi Labour Bureau, and Tohoku Tax Accountant’s Association.
