PURPOSE OF FOUNDATIONFormed in Sendai as the world’s first ever public UNESCO Association after WW2, by those who resonated with the principals of UNESCO. Since then, over the last 79 years we have been conducting activities to attain world peace.
INTRODUCTIONOur charitable corporation was reorganized in 2014. Our main activities include the World Terakoya Movement(literacy education support), world heritage inheritance, and promoting SDGs and international understanding. In particular, we host the “UNESCO College”, “Civil Society UNESCO Day”, “Children’s Film Exhibition”, “SDGs UNESCO Seminar”, Youth Division Project “Miyagi UNESCO Kids Camp”, and the “Peace Prayer Tanabata Project” and “Kimono Dressing Experience Course”, which are based on the memorandum with the Tohoku University Global Learning Center. We are starting a new “Chinese” cultural appreciation course, which will be held on three Saturdays a month. .
PRAfter the pandemic, we began utilizing online platforms to conduct exchange with our overseas counterparts. We also host seminars on SDGs geared towards corporations and events, and conduct various activities based around plans to support the children of the future. Please join us in our efforts.
