| PURPOSE OF FOUNDATION | We aim to contribute to world peace and deepen mutual understanding. |
| INTRODUCTION | Established in 1956 as the Japan-USSR Society with Ichiro Hatoyama as Chairperson, our Society changed its name to the Japan-Eurasia Society in 1992. In order to realize the sister city agreement between Sendai and Minsk in 1973, the Prefectural Union sent an independent delegation to the ｃｉｔｙ of Minsk in 1971to work towards the establishment of relations. Our sister organizations include Euras Tours, Tokyo Russian Language Academy, Institute of Eurasian Studies, and the Japan-Russia Language Information Library. Our Society conducts cultural exchanges with friendship groups in all countries of the former Soviet Union, and holds lectures, study groups, exchange meetings, hiking, goods sales, children's art exhibit movie nights, Russian language classes, and a wide variety of other activities. |
