■Kenyan Culture Experience Event「Soapstone Painting」(Subsidized by SenTIA)(ケニアソープストーン絵付け体験会)
Sendai International Friendship Club is hosting the Kenyan Culture Experience Event “Soapstone Painting.”
The Sendai International Friendship Club hosts culture exchange events with the goal of growing mutual respect between different countries’ cultures and people.
The focus of this event is hearing about Africa and a hands-on workshop experience painting Kenyan Soapstones.
Soapstones are white rocks that are found in the western region of Kenya.
You can find these painted stones lining the stalls of local markets in Kenya.
Soapstones are easy to shape.
For this event, we have prepared plain reindeer and hippo shaped soapstones.
You can paint the white stones provided in any way you would like and keep them as a memento.
They would also make for a great Christmas decoration.
Please take part if you can!
