This year, Summer Japanese Classes are in their ninth year. There are some children who have participated almost every year, as well as some newly joining children. Some of them have just come to Japan and can’t read hiragana or katakana; some of them wish to learn Japanese everyday conversation, some of them can communicate a little, but can’t keep up with school studies and need somebody to help with their homework and some of them can keep up with studying, but they want to improve their vocabulary, writing skills, science knowledge, etc.

Therefore, the summer vacation classes are done as follows.

①Unlike study at school, it is a one-on-one instruction style. If some children don’t know Japanese at all, there will be an interpreter with them. The teacher will also instruct children with a lot of pictures to help them understand easily and well.

②Because there are many small children to avoid them getting tired during the classes the teachers devise various things. For example they set science experiments time (experiments using magnets and batteries), and on the final day they play games. Participation by junior high school students is also welcome. We will also consult your  junior high school life and help you study.

  1. ③As these classes are only for 4 days, they can’t complete all of their studies. However they can set some small goals every day, when the goals are finished, they can feel the joy of achieving them.

④ Teachers of these classes are volunteers who have extensive experience in teaching foreigners’ children, university students and international students and are majors in Japanese language education. So it is really a wonderful environment for children.

⑤ The teachers also prepare a lot of textbooks, problem books and picture books.

Textbook example: Japanese picture cards

Book list: 夏休み教室教材資料2018

We are looking forward to the participation of many of you!
