【Now Recruiting Participants】Training for Cultivating Foreign Resident Disaster Prevention Leaders (2 lessons in total) will be held

Do you know about disasters that happened in Sendai? Do you know about disaster prevention in your community? Have you ever listened to a foreign resident disaster prevention leader? 
You can learn about disasters and disaster prevention during this training. If you are a foreign resident and are interested in disaster prevention, want to protect your community from disasters, or are curious about managing a refuge area, please come and participate. *The training will be taught in Easy Japanese.

【Lesson 1】
Date and Time: July 11, 2020 (Sat.) 10:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. 
Location: Sendai Multicultural Center Lecture Room (Sendai International Center, 1F, Conference Building)
Teachers: Tan Shunwai (Foreign Resident Disaster Prevention Leader, Soja City, Okayama Prefecture), Disaster Risk Reduction Promotion Section, Crisis Management Department, City of Sendai

【Lesson 2】
Date and Time: August 8, 2020 (Sat.) 9:00a.m. – 12:00p.m.
Location: Sendai City designated refuge area (Sendai Municipal Higashi Rokubancho Elementary School, Higashi Roku Community Center) *Planned
Teacher: Hoshi Masato (SBL:Sendai-shi Chiiki Bosai Leader)

●Aimed At: Foreign residents who can speak conversational Japanese and have an interest in disasters and disaster prevention.
●Participant Limit: 20 ※First-come basis
●Lesson Fee: Free
●How to Apply: Pre-application required. Send an e-mail message to t-igarashi@sentia-sendai.jp which includes your address, name, sex, and telephone number. Please write “Training for Foreign Resident Disaster Prevention Leaders Application” as the subject name.
